A staggering 420 million young people aged 15-35 call Africa home, representing a massive well of untapped potential. However, this demographic dividend remains largely unrealized, with one-third of Africa’s youth facing unemployment and discouragement, and another third navigating vulnerable employment conditions. Shockingly, only one in six young people finds themselves in stable wage employment.

In low-income nations, “underemployment” affects just over half of the youth in the labor force, making it a prevalent concern that hampers the realization of the continent’s potential.
